Gone
are
those
days,
where
'romance'
was
considered
as
the
'main'
ingredient
to
make
any
film,
a
hit!
From
the
past
few
years,
Indian
cinema
is
adapting
a
new
kind
of
romance,
that
the
audience
witness
between
the
two
lead
actors,
also
known
as
'bromance.'
Rohit
Dhawan,
who
is
also
the
elder
brother
of
Varun
Dhawan
debuted
in
Bollywood
with
a
film,
Desi
Boyz,
and
now,
is
back
with
Dishoom
that
stars
Varun
Dhawan,
John
Abraham,
Jacqueline
Fernandez
in
the
lead
roles.
The
oven-fresh
pairing
of
Varun
with
John
is
the
highlight
of
the
film.
So,
let's
see
whether
this
hot
pairing
of
John
&
Varun
saves
the
film.
Is
their
much
hyped
chemistry
actually
worth
watching?

Director:
Rohit
Dhawan
Star
Cast:
Varun
Dhawan,
John
Abraham,
Jacqueline
Fernandez,
Akshay
Khanna,
Saqib
Saleem,
Dishoom
Plot:
Dishoom
tells
the
story
of
the
kidnap
of
an
Indian
cricketer
named
as
Viraj
(Saqib
Saleem)
by
a
bookie
called
Wagah
(Akshaye
Khanna),
36
hours
before
an
India-Pakistan
final
match.
Wagah
threatens
to
kill
Viraj,
if
the
match
is
cancelled;
therefore
India's
External
Affairs
Minister
designates
a
special
task
force
officer
to
rescue
Viraj.
In
this
freaking
complicated
situation,
enters
Kabir
Shergill
(John
Abraham)
who
leaves
no
stones
unturned
to
find
Viraj.
In
his
manhunt,
he
is
accompanied
by
Junaid
Ansari
(Varun
Dhawan)
who
is
a
Middle-Eastern
cop.
The
duo
turns
buddy
cops
and
are
on
a
quest
to
find
Viraj.
Jacqueline
Fernandez
plays
the
character
of
a
thief,
but
her
character
doesn't
have
much
to
offer!
Now,
whether
Junaid
and
Kabir
would
bring
Viraj
before
the
match
begins
and
how,
forms
the
crux
of
the
story!
Dishoom
Performances:
Varun
Dhawan
is
one
talented
actor
and
but
in
this
action-drama
flick,
the
actor
didn't
try
anything
new.
He
has
done
mind-blowing
stunts
and
whistle-worthy
dance
performances
but
in
some
places
his
character
has
been
exaggerated.
On
the
other
side,
John
sizzles
in
his
serious
avatar
and
rather
did
an
amazing
job
as
a
tough
cop!
However,
we
gotta
give
credit
to
Rohit
for
smoothly
establishing
the
comic
chemistry
between
Varun
and
John
and
didn't
let
one
overshadow
the
other!
With
her
sizzling
appearance
and
a
body
to
die
for,
Jacqueline
totally
nailed
it
in
the
'Sau
Tarah
Ke'
song
sequence!
However,
in
many
scenes
of
the
film,
her
fake
accent
reminded
us
of
Katrina
Kaif.
Rohit
should
have
worked
on
her
accent.
Akshaye
Khanna,
who
made
a
comeback
after
four
years,
has
proved
that
no
matter
whether
he
signs
too
many
films
or
not,
his
marvellous
acting
skills
never
take
a
backseat!
Akshay
Kumar's
special
appearance
while
sporting
a
man
bun
and
Parineeti
Chopra's
special
song
is
one
of
the
best
parts
of
the
film!
Audiences
welcomed
both
the
special
appearances
with
a
long
whistle!
Dishoom
Technicalities:
Rohit
Dhawan
has
directed
the
movie
according
to
the
taste
of
the
majority
of
Bollywood
lovers!
In
spite
of
a
poor
script
and
a
series
of
plot
holes,
he
tried
his
level
best
to
make
this
film
an
entertaining
one
but
couldn't
save
it
from
being
a
drag!
There
are
a
few
indigestible
scenes
but
having
said
that
it's
meant
to
be
entertaining,
you
can
give
these
scenes
a
royal
ignore!
The
stunts
of
the
film
is
breathtaking
and
we
gotta
appreciate
the
guts
of
Varun
&
John
for
doing
that
'helicopter'
scene.
There
are
also
never-seen-before
bike
stunts
in
the
movie
which
will
surely
impress
the
stunt
lovers!
Songs
including
the
title
track,
'Jaanemann
Aah',
'Sau
Tarah
Ke'
are
some
much-needed
freshness
in
this
manhunt
drama!
Verdict:
If
you
are
die-hard
fan
of
Varun
&
John,
then
you
can
put
this
movie
on
your
watch
list!
