An Instance That Proves Why Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja Is A Humble Genius!

There may be many music directors in the cine world, but none can match the prowess, excellence and consistency of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. Yes, the man who defined music to millions of music lovers and redefined music to the cinema industry time and again!

We all know that the music maestro has rendered some timeless classics and top notch orchestrations of 80s era which are still ruling even in the generation of iPod and music players.

Ilaiyaraaja doesn't just command respect and adulation for his works from his industry colleagues but also due to his personal connection with the celluloid stars as he shares a great camaraderie with many. Especially with stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan as he has worked with both these legendary thespians for over a 100 movies.

It was during the audio launch of Shamitabh movie in Mumbai where the audience and cine lovers were revealed an incident about this musical legend by an acting legend.

The audio launch function was organised in a grand scale as it also was a planned event to commemorate the musical genius's rare feat of successfully rendering music for 1000 movies.

The function comprised of three big stalwarts of Indian cinema, viz. Amitabh Bachchan, Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Hassan, alongside Raja Sir.

During the interesting phase of the conversation between these three on screen legends, Kamal Haasan rang up with an interesting anecdote connected to his classical cult movie, Hey Ram.

Kamal had planned the movie by collaborating with a certain music director for Hey Ram and had completed the shoot sequences of most part of the movie and a few song footages. It was then the time for rerecording where the director turned actor had to spend time with the music director in the recording studio, both for song footages and scenes. To the film team's dismay, the music director was out of the film due to unforeseen reasons and Kamal Haasan had no choice apart than approaching a different music director.

It was Ilaiyaraaja who came to Ulaga Nayagan's rescue.

Kamal sheepishly admitted that he knocked the doors of Ilaiyaraaja without a pinch of embarrassment and requested Raja to get the job done. The Vishwaroopam star even went a step ahead and offered the maestro to reshoot footages for them to sync with Raja Sir's musical score.

Ilaiyaraaja, without much debate asked Kamal Haasan to provide the already shot footages to him for his work. The former composed tracks and background music to the already composed and shot footages and ensured that the music was thoroughly in line with the sequences.

We all know that our Isaignani is a prodigy, and this incident was just another feather in his cap who not only showcased his technical dexterity, but also his humbleness and comradeship with his close colleague.

Raja Sir's quick and kind act not only saved the efforts of actor Kamal Haasan but also avoided a huge amount of time wastage to Director Kamal Haasan and hoarded some stacks of money to producer Kamal Haasan back in his kitty.
