If only some reasonable word of mouth catches up, it is going to be advantage Jodhaa Akbar all the way. Though clear indications are still awaited about the eventual response to the film (on Friday, the film suffered a patchy release due to multiplex issue), as the first weekend draws to a close, things would start becoming clearer around the eventual appreciation that the film has drawn.
Coming back to the point of advantage lying with Jodhaa Akbar , it is due to the fact that from now till all the way into March, there is no major film releasing at theaters. That's because till 21st March, the day when RACE releases, the only other film coming in the way of Jodhaa Akbar is Subhash Ghai's Black&White (on 7th March). Since the film deals with an offbeat subject, it isn't quite running for a universal market and hence doesn't seem to pose any challenge to Jodhaa Akbar .
With as many as 5 weeks between the release of Jodhaa Akbar and Race, this Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Bachchan film has a lot going in it's favor provided things heat up this weekend. Stay tuned!
