Paa under performs in the overseas BO

While Paa may be faring exceptionally well in India, it hasn't met the desired expectations in the international markets. The film showed an upward trend on Saturday and was better than Friday on Sunday in both U.S.A. [$ 55,690; $ 86,636; $ 56,902] and U.K. [£ 17,120; £ 27,085; £ 22,383], but the business isn't in sync with the tremendous appreciation for the film. Australia too is below par... Radio is a supreme disaster in U.K. In fact, it's the lowest opener of 2009 there [see chart below]... Last week's De Dana Dan had an 85% fall in U.S., 75% fall in U.K. and 68% fall in Australia.

* Paa has debuted at No. 18 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 66,588 [approx. Rs. 50.99 lacs] on 35 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,903.

* Kurbaan [last weekend: No. 14, this weekend: No. 28]: In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 14,528 on 17 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 855. Total: £ 3,55,131 [approx. Rs. 2.72 crores].

* Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani [last weekend: No. 22, this weekend: No. 42]: In its fifth weekend, the film has collected £ 3,504 on 11 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 319. Total: £ 4,38,662 [approx. Rs. 3.36 crores].

* Heer Ranjha [Punjabi film; last weekend: No. 40, this weekend: No. 50]: In its fourth weekend, the film has collected £ 1,142 on 3 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 381. Total: £ 59,795 [approx. Rs. 45.79 lacs].

* Radio has debuted at No. 56 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 620 [approx. Rs. 47,478] on 4 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 155.

* London Dreams [last weekend: No. 49, this weekend: No. 71]: In its sixth weekend, the film has collected £ 261 on 1 screen. Total: £ 2,58,048 [approx. Rs. 1.98 crores].

U.S.A. BOX-OFFICE

* Paa has debuted at No. 24 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected $ 1,99,228 [approx. Rs. 92.66 lacs] on 67 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 2,974.

* De Dana Dan [last weekend: No. 20, this weekend: No. 32]: In its second weekend, the film has collected $ 84,420 on 69 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 1,223. Total: $ 9,13,899 [approx. Rs. 4.25 crores].

* Kurbaan [last weekend: No. 31, this weekend: No. 48]: In its third weekend, the film has collected $ 25,514 on 24 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 1,063. Total: $ 7,36,413 [approx. Rs. 3.42 crores].

AUSTRALIA BOX-OFFICE

* De Dana Dan [last weekend: No. 12, this weekend: No. 18]: In its second weekend, the film has collected Aus. $ 30,730 on 14 screens, with the per screen average working out to Aus. $ 2,195. Total: Aus. $ 1,66,389 [approx. Rs. 70.72 lacs].
