Lafangey Parindey had poor weekend collection

Yash Raj Films' Lafangey Parindey witnessed a decent opening but its weekend collections were far from impressive. It is said that this film featuring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone has good story but denied a good run due to bad publicity.

Sources from Spice Cinemas said that the weekend collection of the film was way below expectations with merely 50 per cent occupancy. Sources from Wave Cinemas, Fun Cinemas and PVR Cinemas also revealed that the film managed just 30-40 percent occupancy in the opening weekend. They are of the opinion that lack of publicity has let the film down in spite of its good content.

It is reported that Lafangey Parindey earned around Rs.3.5 crore across India on the opening day. The opening weekend collection is said to be around Rs.10 crore to Rs.11 crore. However, it maybe recalled that Aamir Khan's home production Peepli Live earned about Rs.210 million in its first week.

Lafangey Parindey, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, is about a blind girl and a street fighter who can fight blindfolded. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone play the lead roles.
