Peepli Live not impressive at overseas box office

Peepli Live has had a below average opening weekend in U.K. Released a few weeks after its release in India and America, the film hasn't collected the desired numbers, despite its producer, Aamir Khan, going all out to promote the film in U.K.

Weekend: September 24 - 26, 2010.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE
* Dabangg (last weekend: No. 18, this weekend: No. 21): In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 65,843 on 43 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,531. Total: £ 6,99,677 (approx. Rs. 4.98 crores).

* Peepli Live has debuted at No. 24 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 41,857 [approx. Rs. 29.81 lacs] on 24 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,744.

* We Are Family (last weekend: No. 23, this weekend: No. 25): In its fourth weekend, the film has collected £ 38,677 on 36 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,074. Total: £ 6,78,646 (approx. Rs. 4.83 crores).

* Ik Kudi Punjab Di (last weekend: No. 37, this weekend: No. 49): In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 9,183 on 6 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 1,531. Total: £ 40,243 (approx. Rs. 28.66 lacs).

* Boss Engira Bhaskaran (last weekend: No. 48, this weekend: No. 62): In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 3,683 on 4 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 921. Total: £ 48,234 (approx. Rs. 34.35 lacs).

U.S.A. BOX-OFFICE
*Dabangg (last weekend: No. 25, this weekend: No. 38): In its third weekend, the film has collected $ 1,34,024 on 68 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 1,971. Total: $ 12,58,932 (approx. Rs. 5.68 crores).
