Salman's Dabangg rocks at overseas BO

Dabangg has embarked on a flying start in the international markets. The film is Salman Khan's biggest opener in U.K. (check chart below) and has fared very well in America, Middle East (fantastic), Australia and other countries too... Last week's We Are Family has shown a dramatic escalation in its second weekend in U.K. Excellent.

Weekend: September 10 - 12, 2010.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

* Dabangg has debuted at No. 12 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 3,32,673 (approx. Rs. 2.38 crores) from 41 screens, with the per screen average working out up to £ 8,114.

* We Are Family (last weekend: No. 15, this weekend: No. 16): In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 2,26,291 on 49 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 4,618. Total: £ 4,57,815 (approx. Rs. 3.27 crores).

* Boss Engira Bhaskaran has debuted at No. 34 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 20,765 (approx. Rs. 14.83 lacs) on 4 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 5,191.

* Chak Jawana (last weekend: No. 54, this weekend: No. 78): In its third weekend, the film has collected £ 477 on 1 screen. Total: £ 17,573 (approx. Rs. 12.55 lacs].

* Chhevan Dariya (last weekend: No. 46, this weekend: No. 109): In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 54 on 1 screen. Total: £ 3,554 (approx. Rs. 2.54 lacs).

U.S.A. BOX-OFFICE

* Dabangg has debuted at No. 23 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected $ 6,28,137 (approx. Rs. 2.91 crores) on 62 screens, with the per screen average working out to $ 10,131.

* Australia - Aus. $ 1,26,000 (approx. Rs. 54.56 lacs)

* Middle East - Dirhams 32,04,559.80 (approx. Rs. 4.05 crores)

* Mauritius US $ 25k, South Africa US $ 25k, Fiji US $ 20k and other Overseas territories like Ghana, Tanzania, Europe etc. US $ 100k.
