In
spite
of
the
ban
in
Punjab,
Uttar
Pradesh
and
Andhra
Pradesh,
Prakash
Jha"s
controversial
film
Aarakshan
managed
to
make
a
good
opening
at
the
box
office.
It
witnessed
60%
to
80%
occupancy
in
the
morning
and
noon
shows.
It
did
well
in
multiplexes
while
single
theatres
had
40%
to
50%
occupancy
on
the
day
of
its
release.
The
revenue
of
the
film
will
be
hit
hard
following
the
ban
in
the
three
states
but
the
long
Independence
Day
weekend
will
help
the
makers
earn
good
collection
from
the
rest
of
the
country.
The
crowd
is
expected
to
be
good
in
the
weekend,
as
the
critics
are
all
praise
for
the
film
and
the
word
of
mouth
is
also
encouraging.
The
response
to
the
film
in
cities
like
Mumbai,
Chennai,
Delhi
and
Kolkata
is
good
in
spite
of
the
disturbances
by
politicians.
Multiplexes
owners
from
various
cities
said
that
the
opening
of
the
film
is
good.
