Despite
getting
mixed
response
from
film
critics,
Bollywood
movie
Bodyguard
has
received
a
grand
reception
from
the
movie
buffs.
Salman
Khan-Kareena
Kapoor
starrer
has
broken
the
opening
day
record
of
Dabangg
and
3
Idiots
at
the
Box
Office
with
its
collection
crossing
Rs
22
crores
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
Aamir
Khan
starrer
movie
3
Idiots
had
set
a
record
at
the
Box
Office
by
grossing
Rs
13
crores
on
the
opening
day.
But
Salman
Khan's
previous
release
Dabangg
had
erased
this
mark
with
its
collection
of
Rs
14.5
crores.
Now,
his
latest
movie
Bodyguard
has
surpassed
the
first
day
collections
of
Dabangg.
Talking
to
the
IANS,
Reliance
Entertainment
chief
strategy
and
marketing
officer
Priti
Shahani
said,
"The
response
to
the
film
has
been
amazing.
We
had
estimated
the
collection
to
be
Rs
20
crore
on
the
first
day
and
it
went
on
to
be
Rs
21.5-22
crore
net,
which
are
phenomenal
figures
for
the
first
day."
Meanwhile,
Shahani
did
not
forget
to
credit
this
success
to
Salman
Khan,
who
is
known
as
crowd-puller.
He
added,
"Salman,
no
doubt,
is
the
biggest
driving
factor
as
he
has
a
huge
fan
following.
A
good
release
date
is
extremely
crucial
on
the
theatrical
side
and
Salman
and
Eid
are
indeed
a
lethal
combo."
Director
Siddique's
movie
Bodyguard,
which
has
been
made
with
a
budget
of
Rs
60
crores,
was
released
on
August
31
in
India
with
2,600
prints
and
325
prints
overseas.
The
figures
for
overseas
collection
have
not
been
revealed
yet.
The
producers
of
the
film
are
very
happy
with
its
performance
in
Indian
Box
Office.
Now,
they
hope
that
the
film
will
go
beyond
their
expectations
in
International
Box
Office
too.
However,
Salman
Khan's
movies
like
Dabangg
and
Wanted
were
released
during
Eid
festival
and
they
have
become
blockbusters.
Now,
his
latest
movie
Bodyguard,
which
has
been
released
on
Eid
day,
has
proved
that
this
festival
is
lucky
for
the
actor.
It
has
also
proved
lucky
to
director
Siddique,
who
is
debuting
in
Bollywood
with
this
movie.
