Bollywood movie Bodyguard, which features Salman Khan and
Kareena Kapoor in the leads, has smashed all the records at the
collection centres in North America in the first week of its
release. According to its promoters in the US, the romantic-action
film has collected $1.4 million in the US Box Office.
Bodyguard was released in 88 cinema halls across US and
Canada on Wednesday. The movie has earned USD 1,361,790 in first
five days (Wednesday-Monday). The per-theater average of the film
is $11,945. Its promoters say that the Salman-Kareena starrer is
expected to break the USD 2 million barrier in its second week.
However, Bodyguard has already surpassed the entire
gross of Salman's previous release like Dabangg. The film
has beaten the combined totals for his films Ready and
Wanted in less than one week. The movie is sure to set a
new bench mark in the US Box Office in just two weeks.
