Bollywood
movie
Desi
Boyz,
which
stars
Akshay
Kumar,
John
Abraham,
Deepika
Padukone
and
Chitrangada
Singh
in
the
leads,
was
expected
to
get
a
thunderous
opening
at
the
collection
centres.
But
the
comedy
drama
has
opened
to
a
mix
response
at
the
Box
Office
on
the
first
day.
Desi
Boyz
is
a
mega-budget
film
and
was
released
in
nearly
2,200
screens
across
India,
which
is
one
of
the
biggest
releases.
The
movie
was
expected
to
debut
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
70%
and
80%
on
the
opening
day.
But
its
response
was
unexpected
one.
The
response
for
the
movie
varies
in
different
parts
of
the
country.
Desi
Boyz
registered
30%
to
40%
occupancy
at
some
places,
while
in
collection
centres
it
occupancy
ranged
between
75%
to
90%.
Overall,
its
received
50%
to
65%
occupancy
in
the
country.
However,
Akshay-John's
previous
combo
movie
Garam
Masala
had
got
overwhelming
start.
Their
latest
release
Desi
Boyz
was
also
expected
to
get
the
same
response
as
it
had
extensive
promotions
and
had
no
major
film
to
compete
with.
Now,
movie
bosses
are
hoping
that
it
would
do
well
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
