Director Farhan Akthar"s latest movie Don 2 had a great opening week at the domestic Box Office. Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra starrer has earned Rs 75.51 crore net at the Indian collection centres in the first week. But the action thriller film has failed to break the record of Bodyguard, which had grossed Rs 109.47 crore net in the extended nine days week.
Don 2, which was released in 3,105 theatres across the country, debuted with Rs 15.55 crore net on Friday and its first weekend collection was Rs 49.09 crore net. The business of the movie dropped by 50% with its collection reaching Rs 8.85 crore net on Monday. Its business continued to drop on Tuesday (Rs 7.08 crore net), Wednesday (Rs 5.49 crore net), Thursday (Rs 5 crore net).
However, Don 2 has done exceptionally well at multiplexes, but it has received below the mark response in single screens and B and C centres. The movie has beaten recent release The Dirty Picture, which had collected Rs 32.25 crore net. But its collection is not up to the mark.
