Shahrukh
Khan
and
Salman
Khan,
the
two
powerful
Khans
of
Bollywood
have
always
been
pitted
against
each
other.
The
big
question
–
will
SRK's
Ra.One
out-beat
Salman's
Bodyguard
at
the
box
office
will
be
answered
in
the
days
to
come.
According
to
the
Economic
Times,
the
magnum
science
fiction
Ra.One
fetched
nearly
Rs
18.5
crore
at
the
box
office
on
Wednesday.
This
is
reportedly
3
crore
less
than
what
Bodyguard
collected
on
the
opening
day.
ET
has
also
reported
that
the
highest
opening
day
collection
so
far
at
the
box
office
has
been
Salman
Khan's
Bodyguard
that
fetched
Rs
21.5
crore
on
the
first
day.
According
to
trade
analyst
Komal
Nahata,
while
Ra.One
collected
approximately
Rs
15-16
crore
from
the
Hindi
version,
the
Tamil
and
Telugu
versions
added
an
extra
2
crore-2.5
crore.
Though
comparisons
between
Bodyguard
and
Ra.One
box
office
collections
is
inevitable,
you
must
remember
that
Bodyguard
released
on
Eid
day.
Any
movie
being
released
on
Eid
is
considered
to
be
the
best
period
for
the
film
at
the
box
office.
However,
Ra.One
released
on
Diwali
and
that
is
normally
considered
the
dullest
period
for
films
at
the
box
office
as
most
Hindus
stay
indoors
and
perform
pooja.
In
that
case,
the
day
after
Diwali
(Thursday)
and
the
coming
weekend
should
work
wonders
for
the
film.
Speaking
about
the
positive
response
of
Ra.One
at
the
box
office,
Komal
Nahata
tweeted,
“HISTORY
CREATED.
RA.ONE
crossed
Rs
25
cr
mark
in
India
on
day
2.
Highest
ever.
Still
counting."
Speaking
to
a
leading
newspaper,
Gautam
Dutta,
chief
operating
officer
at
multiplex
chain
PVR
said
that
the
southern
markets
did
better
on
Wednesday.
Dutta
said
that
while
all
the
screens
in
Chennai
were
sold
out,
Hyderabad
and
Bangalore
averaged
out
to
90%-94%
on
Wednesday.
Gautam
said,
“While
North
India
witnessed
a
dip
in
the
evening,
the
morning
and
afternoon
shows
did
well."
