The Dirty Picture gets thunderous opening at Box Office

Bollywood movie The Dirty Picture, which is a biopic on sex siren Silk Smitha, has received a thunderous opening at the Box Office on the first day. Vidya Balan starrer has got 85% to 90% occupancy in morning shows across India. Its opening response at the collection centres is equal to some of the big budget movies of the year.

The Dirty Picture is a medium-budget film, which has released on 1,600 screens in India today (December 2). The volume of its release is also low when compared to the recent releases like Rockstar [1,900 screens in India] and Desi Boyz [2,200 screens in India]. But the audiences' response for its morning shows will make it clear that the movie is sure to set new records at the Box Office.

However, The Dirty Picture stars Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor in the leads. The steamy sequences of Vidya have created lot of curiosity among the movie goers. In addition, the makers of the film have had extensive promotion for it. Moreover, the movie has received favourable reviews from the film critics. Now, trade analysts expect that the film will collect around Rs 25 to Rs 30 crore at Box Office in the first weekend.
