Bol Bachchan opened to a decent response in the first show at the Box Office on Friday, July 6. Its business went up in the later shows and the movie collected Rs 12.10 crore on the first day. The film received very good response from the audience with its first weekend collection reaching Rs 43.10 crores nett at the Box Office.
The business of Bol Bachchan fell down by 60% on Monday and it collected Rs 7.03 crore nett. The movie continued to collapse on the following weekdays. The film has raked in approximately Rs 67 crore nett at the Box Office in seven days. The breakup of its first week collection is Rs 7.03 crs on Mon, Rs 6.3 crs on Tues, Rs 5.43 crs on Wed and Rs 5.23 crs on Thur.
However, Bol Bachchan has failed to break the first week collection record of recent hit film Rowdy Rathore, which had collected Rs 77 crores nett in its first week. The movie had all capabilities like masala elements, good publicity, positive reviews from film critics and good word of mouth from viewers.
Then what made Bol Bachchan suffer at the Box Office? The Ajay-Abhishek starrer film faced a tough competition from two regional movies across the country. Its first competitor is Telugu film Eega, which released with different languages in South India and severely affected its business in that part. Secondly, the Punjabi movie Jatt and Juliet, which released in the last week of June, continued to rock at the collection centres in North India in the second week too.
