English Vinglish, KLPD have tepid start at Box Office

Like last weekend, this weekend also saw the release of two new movies like English Vinglish and Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) and they had a dull beginning at the Box Office in India. English Vinglish had better response than Kismet Love Paisa Dilli. Old releases like Barfi and OMG Oh My God were trending better than the new ones.

Sridevi's English Vinglish is one of the most hyped movies of 2012 and its makers have massive promotions for it. But it has opened to a very poor response. It has slightly better footfalls in multiplexes. It has registered an average of 15-20% occupancy. It picked up marginally in the evening shows. The word of mouth is expected to gain momentum for it over the weekend.

Whereas, another movie Kismet Love Paisa Dilli starring Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat in leads, is also one among the much-awaited films. But it has fallen flat at the domestic Box Office on the first day. It has received good response in the single screens, where it has registered an average occupancy of 10%.

However, old releases like Barfi and OMG Oh My God are still keeping the bells ringing at the Box Office. They are getting better response than the new releases. They would once again top the weekend collection chart, if English Vinglish and Kismet Love Paisa Dilli do not show a big jump in their business on Saturday and Sunday.
