Filmmaker
Anurag
Kashyap's
latest
release
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
(GOW)
opened
to
a
very
low
response
at
the
Box
Office
in
India,
but
the
movie
picked
up
dramatically
in
the
evening
and
night
shows
on
Friday.
As
per
the
early
trends,
trade
analysts
calculations
show
that
the
film
will
rake
in
more
than
Rs
3
crores
nett
at
the
collection
centres
on
the
first
day.
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
registered
a
very
poor
occupancy,
which
was
ranging
between
10%
and
15%
in
the
morning
and
afternoon
shows.
The
movie
showed
a
remarkable
growth
in
its
business
in
the
later
shows.
Trade
analyst
Taran
Adarsh
tweeted,
"After
a
slow
start,
#GOW
picked
up
dramatically
in
evening
and
nite
shows.
The
jump
in
biz
at
several
screens
was
phenomenal." He
added,
"#GOW
*early
trends*
Fri
figure
should
be
3
cr
+
nett."
Gangs
of
Wasseypur,
which
is
produced
and
directed
by
Anurag
Kashyap,
is
one
of
the
most
awaited
movies.
Manoj
Bajpai,
Nawazuddin
Siddiqui,
Piyush
Mishra,
Shabana
Azmi
and
Reema
Sen
are
in
the
lead
roles.
The
movie,
which
was
earlier
premiered
at
Cannes
international
film
festival,
has
received
rave
reviews
from
the
film
critics.
However,
many
critics
were
a
bit
late
in
publishing
their
review
for
Gangs
of
Wasseypur,
which
might
have
been
one
reason
for
the
low
response
in
the
first
two
shows
on
Friday.
Soon
after
a
few
movies
hit
the
net,
the
business
of
the
film
seemed
to
be
improving
in
many
theatres
in
the
later
shows.
Now,
the
word
of
mouth
is
expected
to
play
magic
at
the
ticket
windows
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
Now,
it
should
be
seen
whether
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
will
be
able
to
beat
this
week's
another
new
release
Teri
Meri
Kahaani,
which
has
registered
30%
to
35%
occupancy
in
both
multiplexes
and
single
screens
across
India
on
Friday.
