Kareena
Kapoor's
much-hyped
movie
Heroine
has
done
a
wonderful
collection
at
the
Box
Office
in
India
in
the
first
week.
Despite
getting
tough
competition
from
Ranbir
Kapoor's
Barfi,
the
Madhur
Bhandarkar
directed
film
has
smashed
the
opening
week
business
record
of
Bebo's
previous
release
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu
at
the
domestic
collection
centres.
Heroine
opened
to
a
good
response
at
the
Box
Office
on
the
first
day,
but
it
was
not
up
to
the
hype
surrounding
the
movie.
It
collected
Rs
7.5
crores
nett
on
Friday.
Its
business
improved
on
the
following
days
with
the
film
collecting
Rs
8.5
crores
on
Saturday
and
Rs
9
crores
on
Sunday.
It
raked
in
Rs
25
crores
nett
in
its
opening
weekend.
It
broke
the
record
of
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu,
which
had
grossed
Rs
21.25
crores
in
three
days.
Heroine
witnessed
50%
dip
in
its
business
on
Monday
when
compared
to
its
first
day
collection.
And
it
continued
to
fall
on
the
following
weekdays.
The
movie
added
another
Rs
12.1
crores
nett
to
its
first
week
total
Rs
37.1
crores
nett.
Its
weekdays
breakup
is
Rs
3.75
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
3.25
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
2.7
cr
on
Wed
and
Rs
2.4
cr
on
Thur.
However,
Heroine
was
one
of
the
most-hyped
movies
of
2012
and
it
was
expected
to
do
much
better
than
what
it
has
done
now.
The
film
received
negative
reviews
from
film
critics,
which
hit
its
business
badly.
Secondly,
Barfi,
which
had
a
positive
word
of
mouth,
cashed
in
on
its
weakness
and
gave
it
a
tough
competition
to
it
at
the
collection
centres.
Which
is
why
Kareena
Kapoor
starrer
has
failed
to
beat
the
record
of
Vidya
Balan's
The
Dirty
Picture,
which
had
grossed
Rs
50
crore
nett
in
the
first
week.
