Kareena
Kapoor's
Heroine
has
opened
to
a
good
response
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
and
it
has
shattered
the
records
of
Madhur
Bhandarkar's
previous
movie
Fashion
starring
Priyanka
Chopra
and
Vidya
Balan's
Kahaani.
But
it
has
failed
to
beat
the
first
day
collection
of
Vidya
Balan's
blockbuster
film
The
Dirty
Picture.
Its
business
is
partially
affected
by
Ranbir
Kapoor's
Barfi,
which
has
continued
to
do
well
in
second
week.
Vidya
Balan's
The
Dirty
Picture
was
also
a
female-centric
movie,
which
revolved
around
the
story
of
Silk
Smitha.
The
movie
had
opened
to
an
overwhelming
response
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
85%
and
90%.
Milan
Luthria
directed
movie
had
raked
in
Rs
10
crores
nett
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
Madhur
Bhandarkar's
Heroine
starring
Kareena
Kapoor
in
lead,
is
also
a
heroine-oriented
movie
dealing
with
the
story
of
a
superstar
actress.
The
film
has
been
in
news
ever
since
it
hit
the
floor
and
its
makers
had
massive
promotion
prior
its
release.
Trade
analysts
had
predicted
that
it
would
break
the
records
of
The
Dirty
Picture,
which
has
been
the
highest
grosser
female-centric
movie
so
far.
But
Heroine
registered
an
average
of
40%
to
60%
occupancy
at
both
multiplexes
and
single
screens
in
the
morning
and
matinee
shows
across
India.
Trade
experts
expected
it
to
see
a
big
jump
in
its
business
in
even
and
night
shows,
but
it
did
not
witness
much
improvement.
The
movie
collected
approximately
Rs
7.5
crore
nett
at
the
desi
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
However,
trade
experts
say
that
it's
a
very
good
opening
day
collection
for
a
film
of
Kareena
starrer.
Its
business
is
far
better
than
that
of
Kareena
and
Imran
Khan's
last
release
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu,
which
had
collected
Rs
5.5
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
on
its
opening
day.
Heroine
is
expected
to
have
big
leap
in
its
business
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
