OMG Oh My God collects Rs 40.15 cr at Box Office in week 1

Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's latest outing OMG Oh My God has rocked the viewers in the first week. The Umesh Shukla directed movie has collected Rs 36.94 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in seven days. Its opening week business is at par with Kareena Kapoor's much-hyped recent release Heroine, which had raked in Rs 37 crores nett in the first week of its release.

OMG Oh My God opened to an average response with its collection reaching Rs 4.25 crores nett at the desi Box Office on its first day. The movie received rave reviews and a positive word of mouth did a magic for the film on the next day. It collected Rs 6.5 crores on Saturday and Rs 7.9 crores on Sunday.

The business of OMG Oh My God fell down on Monday, but it was a notch better than its performance on Friday. Due to Gandhi Jayanthi, its collection was further doubled up on Tuesday. Its business once again saw a dip on Wednesday and Thursday. The breakup of its first week collection is Rs 4.25 cr on Fri, Rs 6.5 cr on Sat, Rs 7.9 cr on Sun, Rs 4.6 cr on Mon, Rs 7.37 cr on Tue, Rs 3.32 cr on Wed and Rs 3 crores on Thu.

However, OMG Oh My God has not been able to beat the collection record of Akshay Kumar's recent releases like Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore. But its business is far better than his another recent film Joker, which had collected Rs 21 crores in the first week. Trade analysts feel that like Barfi, this movie will also keep the bells ringing at the collection centres in the next week.
