Ranbir's Barfi surpasses Rs 100 crore mark at Box Office

Ranbir Kapoor's latest movie Barfi, which stars Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz with him, has finally surpassed Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian Box Office. The Anurag Basu directed movie has scored a century at the domestic collection centres in just 19 days. It has become the fourth fastest Rs 100 crore grosser in 2012 after Ek Tha Tiger, Rowdy Rathore and Agneepath. Its business is still going strong in the third week.

Barfi, which hit the screens on September 14, opened to superb response at the desi Box Office and it did a record breaking collection on the first day of its release. A positive word of mouth spread the magic for this romantic comedy taking its collection to Rs 34.20 crores nett at the domestic collection centres in the first weekend.

Ranbir-Priyanka-Ileana starrer movie showed a drop in its business on weekdays, but its performance was much better than other biggies' weekdays collection. The movie added Rs 24.4 crores nett to its first week total Rs 58.60. Its first week's breakup is Rs 9.2 cr on Fri, Rs 11.5 cr on Sat, Rs 13.9 cr on Sun, Rs 6.5 cr on Mon, Rs 6 cr on Tue, Rs 7.25 cr on Wed and Rs 4.25 cr on Thu.

Despite the release of Kareena Kapoor's much-hyped movie Heroine, Barfi kept the bells ringing at the domestic Box Office in the second week. The romantic movie did amazing business and added Rs 28.55 crores nett to its 14-day total Rs 87.15 crores nett. Its week 2 breakup is Rs 4.1 cr on Fri, Rs 6 cr on Sat, Rs 7 cr on Sun, Rs 3.25 cr on Mon, Rs 3.10 cr on Tue, Rs 2.6 cr on Wed and Rs 2.5 cr on Thu.

Barfi once again remained unaffected by the new big releases like OMG Oh My God and Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal in the third weekend. Ranbir Kapoor starrer did even better business than new releases and previous week release Heroine. It landed in the second position in collection chart in the third weekend. It continued to rock on weekdays too. So far it has collected Rs 103.05 crores nett. Its third week breakup is Rs 1.75 cr on Fri, Rs 3.5 cr on Sat, Rs 3.9 cr on Sun, Rs 2.5 cr on Mon and Rs 4.25 cr on Tue.

However, five Bollywood movies like Agneepath, Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Bol Bachchan and Ek Tha Tiger have already surpassed Rs 100 crore mark at the Box Office in the year 2012. Now, Barfi has become the sixth movie to rake in Rs 100 crores at the domestic collection centres. Ek Tha Tiger is in the top position with its collection crossing this mark in five days, while Rowdy Rathore and Agneepath are in the second and third spots by crossing this mark in 10 and 14 days, respectively. Now, Barfi has landed in fourth place by scoring the figure in 19 days.
