Ram
Gopal
Varma's
latest
Hindi
movie
Department,
which
features
Amitabh
Bachchan,
Sanjay
Dutt
and
Rana
Daggubati
in
the
leads,
has
opened
to
a
very
poor
response
at
the
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
The
film
needs
to
have
a
big
jump
if
it
has
to
get
back
its
production
cost.
Department
has
received
a
dismal
response
from
the
viewers
across
the
country
in
the
matinee
and
afternoon
shows.
The
movie
has
registered
10%
to
15%
occupancy
at
both
multiplexes
as
well
as
single
screens.
As
per
the
early
trends,
the
film
is
expected
to
earn
Rs
2.5
to
3
crore
at
the
Box
Office.
However,
Department
is
an
action
movie
and
the
producers
of
the
film
had
an
extensive
promotions
for
it.
Despite
having
big
stars
like
Amitabh
and
Sanjay
in
the
leads,
the
gangster
flick
has
received
negative
reviews,
which
are
said
to
have
taken
a
toll
on
its
business.
Now,
it
should
be
seen
whether
the
word
of
mouth
would
play
a
magic
at
the
ticket
windows.
