Ek Tha Tiger, which opened to an overwhelming response at the desi Box Office, collected Rs 154.21 crore nett at collection centres in the country in the nine-day-extended first week. The Salman-Katrina starrer film kept the bells ringing at the ticket windows in the second weekend and added Rs 21 crore to its 12 day total Rs 174.95. The movie needs to collect Rs 25+ crore to surpass the 200 crore mark.
It should be recalled here that there is history for Salman Khan's previous movies. Unlike Aamir Khan's films, Sallu Mian's films have had an earth-shattering response in the first week, but their business has fallen down by 75% to 80% in the second week. Their collection has completely slowed down in the following weeks. His films like Bodyguard, Dabangg and Ready have met the same fate in the past.
Now, Ek Tha Tiger is not an exception to this rule. The collection of this movie has also dropped by 80% in the second weekend, when compared to its first weekend collections. The film witnessed a big dip on the second Monday. If it goes at this pace, it will collect Rs 12 to 15 crores nett by the end of the week. So it will not be able to surpass Rs 200 crore mark in the week 2.
Will Ek Tha Tiger be able to cross this mark in the third weekend? Even if it collects Rs 15 crores nett in second week, it has to fetch another Rs 10 crores. But the movie has big threat in the third weekend and that is because of the much-hyped and much-awaited movie Joker, which is slated to hit the screens on this Friday. Trade analyst feel that Joker may not allow Ek Tha Tiger to cross the mark in this weekend. Stay locked to this space to read more updates on Ek Tha Tiger collection.
