Bollywood
movie
Ek
Tha
Tiger
starring
Salman
Khan
and
Katrina
Kaif
in
the
leads,
has
been
receiving
wonderful
response
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
even
on
weekdays.
Thanks
to
Eid
festivities
and
Salmania,
which
have
kept
the
bells
ringing
at
the
collection
centres
across
the
country.
The
movie
has
raked
in
Rs
147.60
crores
nett
in
the
domestic
market
in
eight
days.
Ek
Tha
Tiger
released
on
3,300
screens
in
India
on
August
15.
Due
to
the
Independence
Day
holiday,
the
movie
received
an
earth-shattering
response
with
its
collection
reaching
Rs
32.92
crore
nett
on
the
opening
day.
Salmania
continued
throughout
the
weekend
taking
its
five-day
total
to
Rs
100.16
crore
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office.
Usually,
movie
business
goes
down
by
more
than
50%
on
weekdays.
But
due
to
Eid
holiday,
Ek
Tha
Tiger
registered
a
good
occupancy
in
theatres
across
the
country
on
Monday
too.
Eid
festivities
were
extended
to
next
three
days
and
the
movie
continued
to
do
very
good
collection
at
the
Box
Office
on
Tuesday
and
Wednesday.
The
break
of
its
weekdays
collection
is
Rs
20.68
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
16.31
cr
on
Tue
and
Rs
10.45
cr
on
Wed.
According
to
trade
experts,
so
far
no
movies
had
a
chance
to
do
such
a
wonderful
business
on
the
weekdays.
Ek
Tha
Tiger
has
done
it
and
with
this,
the
film
has
crossed
150
crore
mark
at
the
desi
Box
Office
in
eight
days.
However,
Ek
Tha
Tiger
has
shattered
all
records
of
previous
blockbuster
films
like
Ra.One,
Agneepath,
3
Idiots,
Dabangg
and
Bodyguard.
The
movie
has
beaten
the
lifetime
collection
of
Dabangg,
which
had
collected
Rs
147
crores
at
the
desi
Box
Office.
Trade
analyst
feel
that
it
has
set
a
new
collection
record,
which
is
difficult
to
break
for
any
superstar
except
Salman
Khan
himself.
