Karan Johar's latest movie Student Of The Year SOTY, which has rocked the viewers in the first week, has continued to keep the bells ringing at the Box Office in India in the second week too. The Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer movie has overtaken new releases like Chakravyuh, Ajab Gazabb Love and Rush at the domestic collection centres in the second weekend.
Student Of The Year opened to an overwhelming response and collected Rs 48 crores nett at the desi Box Office. Trade experts opined that its rocking business will be affected by Chakravyuh, Ajab Gazabb Love and Rush. But the movie has proved their calculations wrong with its wonderful collection in the second weekend.
Student Of The Year once again continued to thrill the film goers across the country. The film cashed in on the poor reviews and ratings for the new releases. It has collected Rs 10.75 crores in the second weekend taking its 10-day total to Rs 58.75 crores. Its second weekend breakup is Rs 2.75 cr on Fri, Rs 3.25 cr on Sat and Rs 4.75 cr on Sun.
However, trade analyst feel that Student Of The Year would cross Rs 70 crore mark at the domestic Box Office in the second week. Since there are no big release in the next week, the movie will rock its way into the collection centres in the third week too. Trade experts opine that it could join the league of 100 crore movies.
