ABCD, Special 26 first day collection at Box Office

Mumbai: Hindi movies ABCD - Any Body Can Dance and Special 26 have done a good collection at the Indian Box Office on their opening day. Although the Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal starrer heist film has topped the business chart on the first day, it is the Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya starrer dance 3D film, which has fared much better than the other in less number of theatres.

ABCD - Anybody Can Dance was released in 750 screens (400 3D screens and 350 2D screens) this Friday. India's first dance 3D movie opened to better response than Special 26 with its occupancy ranging between 55% and 70% in the morning and matinee shows, but the film showed a slight dip in the evening shows. The film has collected Rs 5.5 crores nett at the domestic Box Office on the first day.

Whereas Special 26, which was released in 1,750 screens in the country, opened to an average response with its occupancy ranging between 5% and 60% in the morning and matinee shows, but it picked up in the evening shows in the country. As per early estimates, the movie has collected approximately Rs 7 crores nett at the domestic Box Office on the first day of its release.

However, the first day collection of Special 26 is more than ABCD - Any Body Can Dance, but its per screen average is much better lesser than the other. Trade analyst feel that it would show a big jump in its collection on Saturday and Sunday. It should be seen whether it will pick up or not.
