This week's two new movies Ramaiya Vastavaiya (RV) and D-Day, which have created huge positive buzz prior to their release, have made a decent collection at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. But they have failed to pull down Bhaag Milkha Bhaag from top of the chart. They have graced second and third position, respectively in the domestic collection chart.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya opened to good amount of occupancy at single screens in mass-dominated circuits. The Girish and Shruti Hassan starrer showed upward trend on the following days. The movie has collected approximately Rs 15.30 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 4.10 cr on Fri, Rs 4.70 cr on Sat and Rs 6.50 cr on Sun.
Whereas another new release D-Day debuted with an average response at the domestic collection centres, but a strong word of mouth made the movie grow from strength to strength with each passing day. The movie has performed very well at multiplexes. It has collected approximately Rs 13.69 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in its opening weekend. Its breakup is Rs 2.94 cr on Fri, Rs 4.75 cr on Sat and Rs 6 cr on Sun.
However, last week's release Bhaag Milkha Bhaag starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor in leads, once again topped the domestic Business chart, beating new films Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D-Day. The biopic has raked in approximately Rs 16.55 cr nett at the domestic Box Office in the second weekend, taking its 10 day total to Rs 70.29 crores nett.
