Saif Ali Khan's much-hyped latest outing Go Goa Gone (GGG), which has been made with a budget of Rs 20 crores, has concluded the first week with an average collection at the Indian Box Office. Despite getting positive reviews and good word of mouth, the movie has failed to take off well in the country. Whereas another new release Gippi has stooped before the previous week's release Shootout At Wadala.
Go Goa Gone, which was expected to start with a bang, registered a low amount of occupancy on its opening day and it did not show a big leap on Saturday and Sunday. The movie collected Rs 12.90 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first weekend. Its business dipped by more than 50% on the weekdays.
The film has raked in Rs 7 crores on the weekdays, taking its first week domestic total to Rs 19.87 crores nett. Go Goa Gone has even failed to cross Rs 20 crore mark in seven days. Its 7-day breakup is Rs 3.75 cr on Fri, Rs 4.25 cr on Sat, Rs 4.90 on Sun, Rs 2.05 cr on Mon, Rs 1.87 cr on Tue, Rs 1.60 cr on Wed and Rs 1.45 cr on Thu.
Trade experts had predicted that Go Goa Gone and Gippi would halt the collection of Shootout At Wadala. But undeterred by new releases, Shootout At Wadala continued to rock at the desi Box Office. The movie has collected Rs 11.18 crores nett at the Box Office in the second week, taking its 14-day total to Rs 57 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 2.02 cr on Fri, Rs 2.33 cr on Sat, Rs 2.57 cr on Sun, Rs 1.20 cr on Mon, Rs 1.17 cr on Tue, Rs 1.01 cr on Wed and Rs 88 lakhs on Thu.
Whereas second new release Gippi, which has been made with a shoe-string budget, debuted with low response, and it witnessed a little improvement over the weekend, but its business dropped 60% on weekdays. The movie has collected Rs 4.30 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first week. Its 7-day breakup is Rs 75 lakhs on Fri, Rs 1 cr on Sat, Rs 1.25 cr on Sun, Rs 40 lakhs on Mon, Rs 35 lakhs on Tue, Rs 30 lakhs on Wed and Rs 25 lakhs on Thu.
