Mumbai:
Director
Abhishek
Kapoor's
last
week's
Hindi
release
Kai
Po
Che
(KPC)
has
continued
to
keep
the
bells
ringing
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
second
week
too.
The
movie
featuring
newcomers
has
topped
the
domestic
collection
chart,
pushing
down
new
releases
like
I,
Me
Aur
Main
and
The
Attacks
Of
26/11
to
second
and
third
spots,
respectively.
It
has
crossed
Rs
40
crore
mark
in
the
country
in
the
second
weekend.
Many
expected
that
the
business
of
Kai
Po
Che
would
go
down
in
the
second
week
as
two
much-awaited
movies
like
The
Attacks
of
26/11
and
I,
Me
aur
Main
have
hit
the
screens.
But
to
their
surprise,
it
maintained
rock-steady
at
the
Box
Office
in
the
second
weekend.
The
movie,
which
has
raked
in
Rs
29.50
crores
nett
in
first
week,
registered
better
occupancy
than
new
releases
at
multiplexes
across
the
country.
When
compared
to
its
business
on
its
first
Friday,
Kai
Po
Che
showed
nearly
45%
dip
in
its
collection
on
the
eighth
day,
but
it
showed
huge
jump
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
film,
which
had
collected
Rs
18.10
crores
in
the
first
weekend,
has
collected
approximately
Rs
11.25
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
the
second
weekend,
taking
its
10-day
total
to
Rs
40.75
crores
nett.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
3
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
3.75
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
4.5
cr
on
Sun.
However,
Kai
Po
Che
starring
Sushant
Singh
Rajput,
Raj
Kumar
Yadav
in
leads,
is
expected
to
rock
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
on
the
weekdays.
If
it
does
so,
the
movie
is
likely
to
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark
in
the
desi
collection
centres
in
the
second
week.
It
should
be
seen
whether
it
will
surpass
the
mark
or
not.
