shows. It raked in Rs 5.17 crores nett on the first day and smashed
the record of Force, which had collected Rs 5.05 crores on
its opening day.
Madras Cafe garnered rave reviews from almost all the film
critics and a powerful word of mouth took its business upwards. The
movie collected Rs 7 crores on Saturday and Rs 8.5 crores on
Sunday. With this, its first weekend collection stands at Rs 20.67
crores nett at the Indian Box Office. Trade experts say, this is a
decent business for the film.
John Abraham's previous solo outing Force had collected
Rs 16 crores (Rs 5.05 cr on Fri, Rs 4.75 cr on Sat and Rs 6.20 cr
on Sun) at the domestic Box office in its opening weekend. Now, his
latest release Madras Cafe has smashed this record. Trade
