Almost
a
year
after
the
release
of
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu,
Imran
Khan
has
released
his
latest
outing
Matru
Ki
Bijlee
Ka
Mandola
(MKBKM),
which
has
opened
to
an
average
response
at
the
collection
centres
across
the
globe.
The
Vishal
Bharadhwaj
directed
flick
has
beaten
the
first
weekend
collection
record
of
Imran's
last
release
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu
(EMAET)
at
the
worldwide
Box
Office
with
just
small
margin.
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu,
which
was
much-hyped
movie
produced
by
Karan
Johar,
had
got
a
low
start
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
and
its
business
had
improved
over
the
weekend
with
its
collection
reaching
Rs
21.25
crore
nett.
Whereas
Matru
Ki
Bijlee
Ka
Mandola,
which
released
in
1,850
screens
in
the
country,
is
also
much-talked
about
film,
which
was
expected
to
beat
the
record
of
Imran's
last
release
with
a
big
margin.
The
movie
did
it
with
its
opening
weekend
collection
reaching
Rs
22.42
crores
at
the
domestic
Box
Office.
The
Karan
Johar
produced
movie
was
released
in
186
screens
in
international
markets
-
USA,
UK,
Australia,
New
Zealand,
Fiji.
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu
had
received
an
impressive
opening
at
the
Overseas
Box
Office
with
its
first
weekend
collection
Rs
5.78
crores
nett.
Matru
Ki
Bijlee
Ka
Mandola
was
expected
to
smash
this
record.
But
the
Imran
Khan
and
Anushka
starrer,
which
was
released
in
205
screens
in
countries
like
USA,
UK,
Australia,
New
Zealand,
Fiji
has
failed
to
get
a
good
opening
at
the
overseas
Box
Office.
The
movie
has
collected
Rs
4.5
crores
nett
at
international
market
in
the
first
weekend,
thereby
failing
to
beat
the
record
of
EMAET.
Ek
Main
Aur
Ekk
Tu
had
collected
Rs
26.63
crores
nett
at
the
worldwide
Box
Office
in
its
opening
weekend.
Whereas
Matru
Ki
Bijlee
Ka
Mandola
has
raked
in
Rs
26.92
crores
nett
in
the
first
weekend.
However,
Imran
Khan's
latest
outing
was
expected
to
do
more
business
than
its
current
earning,
but
its
collection
was
affected
by
big
regional
releases
like
Naayak,
Seethamma
Vakitlo
Sirimalle
Chettu
(SVSC),
Alex
Pandian,
Kanna
Laddu
Thinna
Aasaiya
(KLTA)
and
Saadi
Love
Story.
