Raanjhanaa (7 days) first week collection at Box Office

Mumbai: Anand L Rai directed Hindi film Raanjhanaa starring Sonam Kapoor in lead, has concluded the first week with an excellent collection at the Indian Box Office. Having debuted with superb response, the romantic drama film, which marks the entry of Tamil actor Dhanush in Bollywood, has topped the domestic business, beating old releases like Fukrey and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Raanjhanaa was one of the highly-talked about and most-anticipated Hindi movies of 2013. The movie opened with an average response with its occupancy ranging between 30% and 35% in the morning and matinees shows on its first day. It picked up well in afternoon and evening shows. The film witnessed remarkable growth in its footfalls on Saturday and Sunday. It collected Rs 20.08 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend.

The Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor starrer continued its rocking run on the weekdays too. When compared its opening day business, the collection of Raanjhanaa fell down by 25%+ on Monday and interestingly, it went up further on Tuesday. On the weekdays, the movie has collected Rs 14.85 crores at the domestic Box Office, taking its 7-day first week domestic total to Rs 34.93 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 5.12 cr on Fri, Rs 6.81 cr on Sat, Rs 8.15 cr on Sun, Rs 3.85 cr on Mon, Rs 3.90 cr on Tue, Rs 3.60 cr on Wed and Rs 3.50 cr on Thu.

The most-awaited movie Ghanchakkar starring Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan in leads, has hit the screens this Friday. Trade experts have already predicted that it will halt the dream run of all old releases at the Box Office. It should be seen whether Raanjhanaa would be affected by it at the business centres.
