Abhinav Kashyap's latest directorial venture Besharam starring Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda in leads, has got fantastic opening and done decent collection at the Indian Box Office. The romantic action comedy has beaten the first day collection record of Ranbir Kapoor's previous release Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. But considering the volume of its release on a holiday, trade experts say that its performance is not upto the mark.
With its promos soared up the viewers' curiosity to the sky high, Besharam released in 3600 screens in the country on October 2, a Gandhi Jayanti holiday. The film, which had huge amount of advance ticket booking, registered an average of 90% to 95% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes on its opening day. The Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda movie has collected approximately Rs 21.56 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on the first day of its release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Big holiday [2 Oct] + Ranbir after #Barfi and #YJHD + Massive release... #Besharam should've collected Rs 25 cr+ on Wed. It didn't! #Besharam - India *early estimates*: Wed Rs 20 cr+." He added, "Today [Thu] and tomorrow [Fri] are crucial for #Besharam. The film will have to maintain the momentum to post a healthy total."
The negative word of mouth has taken a toll on the business of Besharm, which has dropped considerably on Thursday. The movie has collected approximately Rs 7 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on the second day. With this, its two-days domestic total stands at Rs 28.56 crores nett.
However, the buzz in social media is not very good for Besharam. Most of the viewers, who watched the film in the first show, did not like what they saw and they are busy spreading bad word of mouth on Twitter. We bring you some tweets of the film goers. Continue to see them in the slideshow.
