Saif Ali Khan started the year 2013 on superb note with his movie Race 2 doing a fantastic business at the Box Office, but his second offering of the year, Go Goa Gone, was an average grosser. Much more was expected from his last and third outing of the year, Bullett Raja, which is turning out to be an another average grosser. Though it has done better collection than Go Goa Gone, considering its hype trade analyst describe its performance as average.
Bullett Raja is one of the most-hyped Hindi movies of 2013 and the makers have had an extensive publicity for it. The film was expected to start with a bang, but it debuted with an average response with its occupancy ranging between 30% and 40% in the first show on Friday. It did not show much improvements in the afternoon and evening shows. Its collection on the first day was not upto the mark.
Having garnered mixed reviews, Bullett Raja did not witness a much-needed jump in its business on Saturday and Sunday too. The Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has collected approximately Rs 20.50 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first week. Its breakup is Rs 7 cr on Fri, Rs 6 cr on Sat and Rs 7.50 cr on Sun.
The Tigmanshu Dhulia-directed movie, which is set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, is described as a fest of guns, grime, and glory. Having made with a whopping budget of Rs 50+ crores, Bullett Raja has just a week to utilise its potential. The movie needs to improve its business and recover its production cost on the weekdays.
Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines describes the performance of Bullett Raja as decent, "but nothing great." Thadani said, "The film will go steady just for a week because next Friday R...Rajkumar will release. It looks very impressive and considering the fact that it's a Prabhudheva film, there is a lot of hope from the film. His record has been very strong so far."
