Shahid's R... Rajkumar (Friday) First Day Collection At Box Office

Prabhu Deva's latest directorial venture R... Rajkumar starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in leads, has received a decent opening at the Indian Box Office. Its first day collection is better than the opening day business of Shahid's recent releases like Mausam, Teri Meri Kahaani and Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and also Prabhu Deva's last release Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

Released in 2,200 screens in the domestic market, R... Rajkumar debuted with a decent response with its occupancy ranging between an average of 50% to 60% in a few circuits like Gujarat, Maharashtra, CP Berar and Rajasthan. But the movie had a lukewarm response in northern circuits like Delhi and Punjab, where it had an average of 35% occupancy. The masala entertainer has collected approximately Rs 9 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on the first day.

Shahid Kapoor has been one of the struggling Bollywood actors in recent years. After his last releases Mausam, Teri Meri Kahaani and Phata Poster Nikhla Hero failed to make it big, the actor has pinned lot of hopes on R... Rajkumar. He has done extensive promotion for it. A couple of songs have added to it popularity. In addition, the film has Prabhu Deva's brand as a director.

All these aspects were expected to drive an unprecedented crowd towards the theatres screening R... Rajkumar. Though the movie has done decent collection at the Box Office on its opening day, it is not up to the expected mark, opine trade experts.
