Mumbai: Hindi movies Special 26 and ABCD - Any Body Can Dance, which were released on February 15, have once again done good business at the Indian Box Office in the second week. While new release Murder 3 topped the collection chart, these old movies landed in the second and third positions respectively, pushing down another new release Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story to fourth spot.
Trade experts had predicted that the collection of Special 26 and ABCD - Any Body Can Dance will slow down in the second week as their business would be affected by two much-hyped movie Murder 3 and Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story. But both the movies moved ahead and continued to keep the bells ringing at the domestic Box Office in the second weekend.
Special 26 starring Akshay Kumar and Kajal Agarwal in leads, maintained steady figures at multiplexes in the second week and collected Rs 13 crores nett at the domestic Box Office, and its second weekend collection was just Rs 31 lakhs lesser than Murder 3, which had raked in Rs 13.31 crores in its opening weekend. On weekdays, it added another Rs 5 crores to its 14-day domestic total Rs 61 crores nett.
Whereas ABCD - Any Body Can Dance starring Prabhu Deva, Kay Kay Menon and Ganesh Acharya in leads, also did well and collected Rs 13.5 crores nett (Rs 9 cr in weekend and Rs 4.5 cr on weekdays) at the domestic Box Office in the second week. Now, its 14-day domestic total stands at Rs 45.5 crores nett. It is expected to cross Rs 50 crore mark in the third weekend.
