Gunday, which released in 2,500 screens
across India on Valentine's Day, has done superb collection at the
domestic Box Office in the first
week. The Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor
and Priyanka Chopra starrer has crossed Rs
60 crore mark in the country in seven days and is fast heading
towards Rs 100 crore mark. Trade analyst predict that the movie
will achieve this magical number in the second week.
The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film embarked
on a flying start at the Indian Box Office on Friday. Generally,
Masala films do not open too well at multiplexes. To everyone's
surprise, Gunday registered very good amount of occupancy
at both single screens and multiplexes on its opening day. But it
failed to retain the same response over the weekend. Its business
dipped more than 50% on Monday and it continued to drop further on
the following weekdays.
Made on a whopping budget of Rs 50 crores, Gunday has
recovered its production cost in just five days. The action crime
thriller film has collected Rs 63.61 crores nett at the Indian Box
Office in the first week. Its breakup is Rs 16.12 cr on Fri, Rs
12.63 cr on Sat, Rs 15.18 cr on Sun, Rs 5.85 cr on Mon, Rs 5.15 cr
on Tue, Rs 4.53 cr on Wed and Rs 4.15 cr on Thu.
