Director
Imtiaz
Ali's
recent
release
Highway,
which
has
been
made
with
a
medium
budget,
has
concluded
the
first
week
with
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
The
Randeep
Hooda
and
Alia
Bhatt
starrer
road
film
has
recovered
its
production
cost
and
made
a
profit
of
around
Rs
2
crores
in
seven
days.
The
promos
of
Highway
had
soared
up
the
viewers'
expectations
to
the
sky
high.
Trade
analysts
predicted
it
to
get
a
flying
start,
but
the
movie
opened
to
lukewarm
response
on
Friday.
However,
a
strong
word
of
mouth
took
its
business
upwards
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
film
collected
Rs
13.99
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
When
compared
to
its
opening
day
business,
Highway
showed
more
than
25%
drop
on
Monday
and
its
collection
continued
to
dip
till
Wednesday.
Due
to
Shivarathri
holiday,
the
film
once
again
did
well
at
the
ticket
counters
on
Thursday.
On
weekdays,
the
movie
has
collected
Rs
8.39
crores
at
Indian
Box
Office,
taking
its
seven-day
domestic
total
to
Rs
22.38
crores
nett.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
3.42
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
4.82
cr
on
Sat,
Rs
5.75
cr
on
Sun,
Rs
2.24
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
2
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
1.90
cr
on
Wed,
Rs
2.25
cr
on
Thu.
However,
big-ticket
film
Shaadi
Ke
Side
Effects
has
hit
a
large
number
of
screens
today
(February
28).
Trade
experts
feel
that
the
Farhan
Akhtar
and
Vidya
Balan
starrer
would
take
a
toll
on
the
collection
of
Highway
in
its
second
week.
