Salman's Jai Ho (3 Days) First Weekend Collection At Box Office

This week's Bollywood release Jai Ho, which is the latest outing of Superstar Salman Khan, has concluded the first weekend with decent collection at the Indian Box Office, but its three days business is nowhere close to the collection of his previous releases like Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2. The movie has also failed to beat the records of recent hits like Chennai Express, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3.

Having soared up the viewers' expectation to the sky high, Jai Ho released in 4,400+ screens across the country on January 24. The movie opened to an earth-shattering response with its average occupancy ranging between 80% and 90%. With the film goers giving it thumbs up, this action drama was expected to show escalation in its figures on Saturday, but it could not. The movie showed a little growth on Sunday.

Jai Ho has collected Rs 17.75 cr on Friday and Rs 16.68 crores on Saturday at the Indian Box Office taking its two-day domestic total to Rs 33.80 crores nett. The movie has collected approximately Rs 26.25 crores nett on its third day. Its three day collection stands at Rs 60.68 crores nett.

The Salman Khan and Daisy Shah starrer was expected to beat the opening weekend records of Bodyguard (Rs 85.5 crore), Dabangg 2 (Rs 64.66 crores), Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 100.13 crore), Chennai Express (Rs 100.42 crores from 3,500 screens), Krrish 3 (Rs 72.8 crores from 3,500 screens) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 108.58 crores from 4,500). But Jai Ho has failed to do so and one big reason for it is the its ticket price which was very low when compared to that of Chennai Express, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3.

Went to see Salman Khan's #JaiHo. It had some tack in it, but I believe this film is actually onto something.#JaiHo mixes classic Bollywood entertainment with a repeated message which is so prevalent and necessary in India today. It caters for rickshaw drivers, chai wallas etc. and whilst some scenes are cringe, it effectively promotes a positive message #JaiHo

#JaiHo Dilip Shukla's dialogues are sharp but his screenplay falters at places. Same goes for Sohail Khan's direction #JaiHo Sohail deserves credit 4 gettng so many actors 2gether 2 ensuring that most of them help in moving d story fwd #JaiHo could've been another OMG Oh My God but turns out to be just another Salman masala film with slight difference.
