Among the three new Bollywood releases, Queen has turned out
to be a big money spinner at the Indian
Box Office in its first weekend. The Kangna
Ranaut starrer started on a slow note on the opening day, but
has shown good escalations in business on the following days. A
strong positive word of mouth has played a magic at the ticket
counters in the domestic market.
Queen registered an average of 20-25% occupancy at both
single screens and multiplexes across the country on its first day.
But the word of mouth took its business upwards with the movie
witnessing 100% growth on Tuesday. Its collection further improved
on Sunday. The movie has collected approximately Rs 10 crores nett
at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs
1.75 cr on Fri, Rs 3.50 cr on Sat and Rs 4.75 cr on Sun.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh writes, "Its BO collections
escalated rapidly over the weekend, with the business witnessing a
big turnaround on Day 2 and Day 3 after an unsteady start. The
growth at high-end multiplexes of urban centres was incredible,
while the glowing reviews by the paying public as well as critics
and super talk from reputed names within the film fraternity
boosted its prospects."
