New
Bollywood
release
Main
Tera
Hero
(MTH),
which
has
been
directed
by
David
Dhawan,
has
concluded
the
first
weekend
with
a
fantastic
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
The
Varun
Dhawan,
Ileana
D'Cruz
and
Nargis
Fakhri
starrer
has
topped
the
domestic
chart,
slowing
the
business
of
old
releases
Ragini
MMS
2
and
Queen,
which
were
leading
the
race
at
the
ticket
counters
from
the
past
few
weeks.
Despite
having
a
huge
pre-release
positive
buzz,
Main
Tera
Hero
opened
to
an
average
response
and
registered
35%
to
45%
occupancy
on
Friday.
Film
goers,
who
watched
the
film
on
the
first
day
gave
it
thumps
up.
A
word
of
mouth
took
its
business
upwards
over
the
weekend.
It
showed
big
leap
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
It
has
collected
approximately
Rs
24.42
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
6.60
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
8.07
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
9.75
cr
on
Sun.
Main
Tera
Hero
is
big
budget
movie,
which
has
been
produced
with
around
Rs
40
crores.
Trade
experts
opine
that
the
movie
has
done
brilliant
collection
in
its
opening
weekend
and
it
is
likely
to
recover
its
production
cost
in
the
first
week.
However,
Varun
Dhawan's
debut
film
Student
of
the
Year,
which
also
starred
Siddharth
Malhotra
and
Alia
Bhatt
in
the
leads,
had
raked
in
Rs
31
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
His
latest
outing
has
failed
to
beat
this
record.
