Ekta Kapoor's latest production Ragini MMS 2 has concluded the first week with decent collection at the Indian Box Office. The Sunny Leone starrer has topped the domestic business chart, beating other new releases. It has smashed the record of Sunny's previous hit film Jism 2, but it has has failed to cross Rs 50 crore mark. Trade experts opine that the movie was affected by examination season and T20 cricket fever.
Amidst huge hype and expectations, Ragini MMS 2 opened to a fabulous response in the matinee shows on Friday, but its evening and night shows were affected by cricket match between India and Pakistan. The movie was expected to show growth on Saturday, but its business dipped considerably. It showed a jump on Sunday, but it was not upto the expected mark.
On Monday, the business of Ragini MMS 2 dropped by 45% when compared to its opening day collection. And it continued to dip on the following days too. The movie has collected Rs 39.81 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first week. The breakup of its 7-day business is Rs 8.43 cr on Fri, Rs 7.29 cr on Sat, Rs 8.78 cr on Sun, Rs 4.60 cr on Mon and Rs 3.81 cr on Tue, Rs 3.60 cr on Wed and Rs 3.30 cr on Thu.
However, Jism 2, which marked the Bollywood debut of Sunny Leone, had collected Rs 29.91 crores nett (including the collection in paid preview) at the Indian Box Office in 7 days. Now, Ragini MMS 2 has broken its first week collection record and become the highest grosser for the Indo-Canadian star.
