Salman Khan's latest outing Jai Ho, which hit the screens across the globe on Jan 24, has received an earth shattering opening and has done brilliant collection at the Indian Box Office on Friday and Saturday. But the Sohail Khan-directed action drama has failed to beat the records of Ek Tha Tiger, which is the biggest opener for Salman. The reason is that unlike Chennai Express and Dhoom 3, its ticket prices have been homogeneously kept low.

Jai Ho, which released in 4,400 screens in the domestic market, was one of the most awaited Hindi movies and it has had huge amount for its opening day. Besides this, the Salmania, which is currently at its peak, has managed to drive unprecedented crowd of viewers towards the theatres screening the film across the country. In many place, film goers were seen eagerly waiting to buy tickets in wee hours.
The Salman Khan and Daisy Shah starrer has registered 95-100% occupancy in both multiplexes and single screens in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi and Ahmadabad. When compared to the cities, the response for Jai Ho was bit lower at the cities in North India, where the movie has got an average of 70%-85% occupancy in the morning and matinee shows. Its business is expected to grow up in the later shows. Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#JaiHo Fri Rs 17.55 cr nett. India biz only."
Taran Adarsh continued, "#JaiHo reports are very positive, expecting the biz to witness escalation on Sat. Tomorrow, 26 Jan holiday + Sunday should hit big numbers." When it comes to the opening of a Hindi film, Salman Khan is considered as the King of Box Office. His 2012 release Ek Tha Tiger was biggest opener until the release of Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express last year. Salman's latest Jai Ho has not only failed to beat its two records, but also that of his other recent releases like Dabangg, Bodyguard and Dabangg 2.
