Much-talked about women-centric film Bobby Jasoos has a poor start at the Indian Box Office on Friday. On its opening day, its business was affected by one-week old release Ek Villain, which is once again leading race in the domestic market. Though the response for the Vidya Balan and Ali Fazal starrer is better than another new release Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, its first day collection is nowhere close to the business of Vidya's previous hits like Kahaani and The Dirty Picture.
As its name suggests, Bobby Jasoos is a female detective movie. Its promos have garnered lot of curiosity for the film. Considering its massive publicity, the trade experts predicted that the movie would debut with a decent response and break the record of The Dirty Picture, which is the biggest opener for Vidya Balan. But released in 1350 screens worldwide, the film failed to beat the record of the latter, which had graced 1766 screens in India and 120 screens overseas.
Bobby Jasoos started on an average note with its occupancy ranging between 15% to 20% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes across the country in the morning and matinee shows on Friday. The film did not show the much-needed big jump in the evening and late night shows. The film has collected Rs 1.75 crores nett at the Box Office on the first day.
