The films which have released this year have not fared well at Box Office except for Ranbir Kapoor's Roy which opened to Rs 10.40 Cr while Akshay Kumar's Baby raked in Rs 9.30 Cr.
While Varun Dhawan's Badlapur is the third highest earner at the Box Office on Friday (opening day) with Rs 7.20 Cr. On Saturday, it earned about Rs 8.75 Cr, making a total of Rs 15.75 Cr (estimated) at the domestic Box Office.
The film has garnered an astounding collection of Rs 24 Cr nett over the weekend. Badlapur has done well on Sunday despite the world cup match, the collection is Rs 8.25 Cr.
Taran Adarsh further adds, "Badlapur is rock solid despite India vs South Africa match on Day 3. Fri 7 cr, Sat 8.75 cr, Sun 8.25 cr+. Total: ₹ 24 cr+. India biz. Fab!"
Trade analyst Komal Nahata adds, "Badlapur held on beautifully on Sunday despite the exciting World Cup cricket match between India and South Africa. So if it was Dhawan on the cricket field, it was also Dhawan in the box-office arena, both in top form!"
The revenge drama also features Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Divya Dutta and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Badlapur, is doing very well in Middle East (UAE) too.
