Calendar Girls First Day (Opening) Box Office Collection

Madhur Bhandarkar's Calendar Girls started on a poor note on the opening day at the Indian Box Office.

The morning shows saw an occupancy of just 20% but later shows saw a slight increase and over the weekend, the movie is said to pick up more.

The film was made on a low budget of just Rs 9 crores, thanks to no star presence in the movie. Calendar Girls released in over 1100 screen which means the film will easily recover its low making cost and mint profits over time.

The film starring Akanksha Puri, Kyra Dutt, Avani Modi, Satarupa Pyne and Ruhi Singh in the lead roles is said to be a huge hit. The trade experts and makers predict so due to low budget and huge screen count being an USP for them.

The movie obtained tough competition from Kapil Sharma's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, due to which the movie could not attract that many viewers, also Calendar Girls is more for a niche audience and not a family entertainer.

This being an A rated movie too has effected Box Office returns! According to trade experts the film has grossed Rs 3 crores approximately and is expected to surge during the weekend.
