Tanu Weds Manu Returns manage to rake in so much moolah in the first two days that it beat the collection record of how much Tanu Weds Manu had collected in a week.
Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns has been doing well at the Indian Box Office, so much that it beat the expected figure of Rs 10 crores and collected Rs 13.10 crores on Saturday.
Joining the two days collection, the total stood at Rs 21.85 crores which is much more than how much the part one had collected in a week. The Sunday collections are reported to be Rs 16.10 crores, it was possible since Sunday was a weekend off and owing to good word of mouth promotions, the viewers have rushed to the theaters.
The film released in 2200 screens in India and 340 screens overseas. Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#TanuWedsManuReturns does MASSIVE biz on Day 3, despite IPL finals. Fri 8.85 cr, Sat 13.20 cr, Sun 16.10 cr. Total: ₹ 38.10 cr. India biz."
Total first weekend collections is Rs 38.10 crores, which means it beat the first weekend collection records of Akshay Kumar's Baby, Ranbir Kapoor's Roy, Varun Dhawan's Badlapur, Deepika Padukone's Piku and Arjun Kapoor's Tevar.
Taran further tweeted, "The jump in the biz of #TanuWedsManuReturns is an eye-opener. Almost doubled the biz on Sun [16.10] vis-à-vis Fri [8.85]. Achhe din aa gaye!"
