Welcome Back 17 Days Box Office Collection: Beats Akshay's Baby Record, To Mint 100 Crores

John Abraham's Welcome Back movie managed to beat Akshay Kumar's Baby record at the Indian Box Office.

Welcome movie starred Akshay in the lead role, so when it's sequel was planned and Akshay got replaced by John Abraham, lot of speculations cropped up regarding bad blood between the stars and also if John could deliver a hit like Akshay.

Later both John and Akshay cleared that they are best of friends and even John proved the trade experts wrong and went on to deliver a hit movie.

John was back on screen after a long time which helped bring his fans to the theaters. Even in its' third week run, the film managed to do well, had a 35% occupancy on its' third Sunday.

Welcome Back is performing better in single screen theaters and the late evening and night shows saw more footfalls than earlier shows. Sunday's occupancy rate was 10% more than Saturday's.

The film had grossed Rs 92 crores till Thursday, Taran reported, "#WelcomeBack [Wk 2] Fri 2.61 cr, Sat 4.38 cr, Sun 5.41 cr, Mon 1.70 cr, Tue 1.45 cr, Wed 1.35 cr, Thu 1.75 cr. Total: ₹ 92.67 cr. India biz."

Post which it grossed 83 lakhs on Friday and 5 crores on Saturday and Sunday bringing the overall collection to Rs 98.5 crores approximately. It beat the record of Akshay's Baby movie which had grossed Rs 95.5 crores. This makes Welcome Back the 4th highest grossing movie of 2015.

Ajay Devgn's Drishyam movie which crossed 50 days in theaters minted Rs 75 crores at the Box Office.
