So
Karan
Johar's
star-studded
extravaganza,
Kabhi
Alvida
Naa
Kehna,
finally
hit
theatres
tomorrow.
The
fact
that
it
is
one
of
the
biggest
movies
of
the
year
is
already
established.
So
on
the
eve
of
its
release,
here
are
some
lesser
known
facts
about
the
film.
The
idea
of
making
this
film
struck
Karan
while
he
was
in
London.
During
his
trip,
he
saw
the
movie
Before
Sunset,
based
on
a
couple
who
meet
after
parting
ways.
After
seeing
that
film,
he
was
out
at
a
restaurant
where
he
overheard
a
married
couple
breaking
up,
amicably.
The
incident
moved
him
and
he
decided
to
explore
the
idea.
The
film
has
primarily
been
shot
in
New
York
where
there
was
a
90
day
schedule.
The
remaining
scenes
were
completed
in
four
of
Mumbai's
studios.
The
makers
of
the
film
came
up
with
T-shirts
for
the
film's
promotion.
The
t-shirts
had
the
witty
phrase
"Married
or
happy" on
them.
Originally,
Ajay
Devgan
and
Kajol
were
supposed
to
be
a
part
of
the
cast.
Subsequently,
the
roles
were
taken
up
by
Abhishek
Bachchan
and
Preity
Zinta,
respectively.
The
film's
shooting
was
delayed
due
to
Amitabh
Bachchan's
illness
in
October.
However,
the
team
managed
to
get
on
track
and
the
film
releases
tomorrow,
as
per
schedule.
Shibani
Bathija
who
co-wrote
the
screen
play
of
the
film
also
happens
to
be
the
writer
of
one
of
the
year's
biggest
hits
Fanaa.
Riteish
Deshmukh
shot
for
a
guest
role
in
the
film.
The
stills
were
even
on
the
publicity
material
of
the
film.
However,
Karan
Johar
edited
the
part
at
the
eleventh
hour.
The
prints
of
the
movie
will
showcase
the
trailers
of
Yashraj
Films'
Dhoom
2.
After
watching
the
film,
Shah
Rukh
Khan's
young
son,
Aryan
called
up
Karan
Johar
to
tell
him
that
he
really
enjoyed
the
film.
Karan
holds
the
compliment
very
close
to
his
heart.
