"God is the real rock star and we all are his public" says Sushmita Sen, who plays a rock star in Tanuja Chandra's forthcoming venture Zindaggi Rocks.

After Chingaari, Sushmita is all set to present a hard hitting performance. The character of Riya is a replica of her real life. Sushmita plays a single mother, who lives her life in her own style. Speaking about Zindaggi Rocks Sushmita says, "The character that I play, Riya, is far more passionate version of me. Riya tries to understand herself and I think she is a unique example for others. It's about a person, who lives his/her life on his/her own terms and is a real rock star. I have lived my life like this. We all know what are the reasons and the need to be alive. It's about everything you do in this life time; every moment of your lifetime is yours and is unique to you."

Apparently, Zindaggi Rocks is the first venture of B.A.G Films and Producer Anuradha Prasad chose Tanuja Chandra as a captain of her ship. Sushmita has earlier worked with female directors like Kalpana Lajmi, Meghna Gulzar and Farah Khan. And this time it was Tanuja Chandra. When asked what it felt like to be directed by a female director? Sush replies, "I love working with women directors because they are sensitive by heart. Their style of presentation is simply unique. Tanuja Chandra is love of my life. It is so easy to be directed by a woman director" she replies.

On a sarcastic note, Sushmita adds, "We also had some problems earlier as woman directors give more attention to the male actors. I have suffered this with Shiny Ahuja and Tanuja Chandra during this film and also during Main Hoon Na with Shah Rukh and Farah Khan. But I have to say that both the men, both the films and both the directors are very special to me." However, on a serious note she says, "Tanuja is an intelligent director and very special to me. And any time in life she makes any film I would like to work with her."

Being into controversies for her last film what does she feel now? "I work on my instincts and when I feel I have to do a film like Chingaari, I do it. Whenever my honesty reflects through my performance, I feel satisfied that I have done my job." says Sushmita.

When asked about the acting scope in this film, she replies, "Zindaggi Rocks is another spectrum for acting. While in Chingaari, I played a sex worker, here I play a rock star. This film has a lot of scope for feelings and acting as well. Rockstar is a human being. His success, his songs, his presentation, everything blends into his personality. He lives with the joy and dies with the same. Today, I am out of the bed after three weeks. I had spinal injury but this is life you see. You get out of your bed and where do you land up, on stage!" she laughs.
